Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Fluensia (“Fluensia”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our language-learning application and website (the “Service”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data we collect
We collect only the data we need to provide the Service:
- Account data: your name and email address when you register, or the basic profile information Google shares if you sign in with Google.
- Learning data: your target language, level, lessons, conversations with your AI tutor, saved vocabulary, quiz and exam results, XP, streaks, and progress history.
- Technical data: standard log information needed to operate and secure the Service.
- Payment data: if you purchase a paid plan, payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details on our servers.
2. How we use your data
- To provide and personalise your learning experience, including your tutor’s memory of your progress.
- To create and secure your account and authenticate you (including via Google sign-in).
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To send essential service emails such as email verification and account notifications.
- To maintain, improve, and secure the Service.
3. AI processing
Your conversations and learning inputs are processed by third-party large language model providers to generate tutor responses, lessons, corrections, and feedback. Only the content needed to generate a response is shared for that purpose.
4. Cookies and analytics
Fluensia uses a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in and keep the Service secure. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. Analytics cookies are only placed after you accept them via our cookie banner, and you can decline them without affecting your ability to use Fluensia. Your choice is remembered on your device; you can change it by clearing your browser storage for this site.
5. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service — such as hosting, AI model providers, email delivery, and payment processing — and only to the extent needed to perform those services, or where required by law.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data. Within the app you can:
- View and export your conversations and saved memory from your account settings.
- Delete your conversations, saved memory, or your entire account.
You may also contact us at any time to exercise these rights.
7. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data, except where we are required to retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Passwords are stored in hashed form, and access to personal data is restricted.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
11. Contact
